We owe it to our horses to be our best. Never stop learning and growing.

Liz Haben has over twenty-five years of professional experience as a riding instructor, coach, clinician, trainer, and judge. She is an avid competitor and World Champion exhibitor within the Western industry and is a breeder of Paint Horses, located in New Bloomfield, Missouri.  Liz has worked in higher education since 2012, serving as an Associate Professor of Equestrian Studies in undergraduate studies and an instructor of Equestrian Education in graduate studies. In 2022, she was honored with the William Woods University Beaumont Award, presented annually to the faculty member of the year who demonstrates outstanding dedication to teaching, as nominated and chosen by students.

"My mission is to provide practical and applicable lessons to my students, both inside and outside of the arena and classroom. The same goes for the young horses that I raise. These practical skills and pieces of knowledge, as my students would say, are "life lessons by Liz." I'm a firm believer that it's not just what you know, but it's who you are.  Both you and your horse's success depend not only upon your practical skills and knowledge but also on who you are as a person."
